Helping Leu Gardens

Harry P. Leu Gardens  sustained significant damage to the 50-acre gardens and historic Leu House Museum due to Hurricane Irma.  Areas of the gardens will open on October 1.  Garden House Welcome Center is open for classes, meetings and receptions.  The Leu House Museum will remain closed until further notice.

Many in the community have reached out wanting to help us.  Our Hurricane Clean Up Day is full – THANK YOU!  Below are other ways you can make a difference.

  • For businesses who want to volunteer during the week, please contact the gardens horticultural staff at 407.246.3620 to schedule a date and time.  We have groups throughout the year who lend a hand.
  • Donate to Friends of Leu Gardens to help with rebuild and replant.  Send checks payable to: Friends of Leu Gardens, 1920 N. Forest Avenue, Orlando, FL 32803 or visit to donate by credit card click here.

For the volunteers who signed up for the Hurricane Clean Up Day, Saturday, September 30, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. until Noon, please see below:

Wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes.  Please bring gloves, a rake if you can, sunscreen, a hat if you would like and mosquito repellent.  We will have plenty of water.  You must be 16 years of age or older to work in the gardens.  Don’t forget, high school students can receive service hours for helping out.

On behalf of the Staff of Leu Gardens, thank you.
