Homeschool Programs

Cabin Life – A Day in the Life of a Florida Pioneer (Ages 8-12)
Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Harry P. Leu Gardens traces its roots to the Mizell Family who first established this property as their homestead in 1858.  The Mizells had to work hard to cultivate the land and build a new home for their large family, including the children.  Everyone had a part to play in from making butter, candles and soaps to cooking, doing chores, and writing letters. This hands-on program includes a historical tour of the Gardens and allows students to participate in these same activities to understand what it was like as a pioneer child in Florida.
$20/Up to 2 participants  |  $5/Each additional participant  (1 free adult/2 participants)
