Universal Design

Harry P. Leu Gardens is thoughtfully designed with universal accessibility in mind, ensuring that everyone—regardless of age, mobility, or ability—can enjoy its natural beauty. Smooth, paved pathways connect from the parking areas to every corner of the Gardens, making it easy for wheelchairs, strollers, and walkers to navigate. The Welcome Center features ADA-compliant ticketing, restrooms, and seating areas, offering comfort and convenience from the moment guests arrive. Complimentary wheelchairs and feminine products are available, along with a private mother’s lounge to support the needs of all visitors. Shaded benches, bottle-filler water fountains, and accessible rest areas are thoughtfully placed throughout the Gardens to provide rest and refreshment. Garden displays are designed to engage the senses—scents, sounds, and tactile elements—allowing individuals with mobility, vision, and other physical needs to fully experience the environment. Clear signage, printed maps, and a warm, helpful staff further enhance the experience, making Harry P. Leu Gardens a serene space where everyone can connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.
