60-Minute Must-See Highlights:
Tropical Garden & Lakefront (15–20 mins)
Stroll through the Tropical Garden, crossing over the flowing stream, then follow the winding path to the lush, shady lakefront, stopping along the way to look up at the towering trees. It’s like stepping into a rainforest—great for photos and a little peace.
Cottage & Butterfly Gardens (15 mins)
Depending on the season, pop over to see the Camellia Garden (best Nov–March) or the Butterfly and Edible Gardens for a quaint and beautiful short stroll to see pollinator and vegetable plants.
Rose Garden & Historic Home (10–15 mins)
Start at the Rose Garden near the entrance—it’s one of the most picturesque spots, especially if the roses are in bloom. From there, walk by the Leu House Museum (even if you don’t go inside, it’s a charming photo op).
Historic Camphor Row (10 mins)
The row of camphor trees at Harry P. Leu Gardens is one of the most enchanting features—a peaceful, almost cinematic pathway that feels like a hidden gem. These towering evergreens line a quiet walkway, their broad canopies arching overhead to create a natural tunnel of dappled light and shadow.
With their gnarled trunks and glossy, aromatic leaves, the camphor trees offer both visual beauty and a calming atmosphere. On breezy days, the soft rustling of leaves and gentle movement of sunlight through the branches creates a tranquil, almost meditative experience. The earthy scent of camphor in the air adds to the sensory richness of the space.
This shady lane is a favorite spot for a quiet stroll, romantic photos, or simply sitting on a bench and enjoying a moment of stillness. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and take it all in.
