Herbal Harvest: Harvesting and Drying Herbs

Sunday, January 25, 2026

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Instructor: Lauren Tanner

Join us for an inspiring and informative class on the art and science of harvesting and drying herbs. Whether you're a beginning grower or herbalist, you’ll gain hands-on knowledge to help you make the most of your herbal harvests.

We’ll explore best practices for harvesting for abundance, deterring pests naturally, and supporting healthy plant growth specific to Central Florida’s climate. Lauren will demonstrate how to properly harvest individual plants and share dried herb examples for sensory learning. You’ll also learn about a variety of drying methods, along with recommended tools and supplies to use in both the garden and home apothecary.

Together, we’ll dive into techniques that preserve the vibrant color, rich aroma, and therapeutic potency of your herbs—ensuring lasting quality, flavor, and shelf stability. Creative uses for your dried botanicals will also be discussed to inspire your herbal crafting at home.

Lauren will provide an herbal craft market at the end of class to purchase handcrafted herbal culinary and body care creations.

Registration includes admission to the beautiful gardens before or after class.
