The Magical World Of Sprouting

Saturday, June 28, 2025

1:30 pm-3:00 pm

Instructor: Scott Thomas

Welcome to fair weather gardening, as sprouting requires very little skill or patience. Sprouts are generally quick, easy and estimated to have 10 times as many nutrients as the full size vegetable from your garden.

Beyond the nutritional and economical advantages, engaging with fast-growing plants can be a simple, yet effective way to support your mental health by promoting a sense of accomplishment, relaxation, mindfulness to be in the present and create a satisfying sense of connection to nature.

Students will leave with the tools and resources to start sprouting from seeds on their own. Using a glass jar, cheese cloth and certified organic seeds, your sprouts will be ready to harvest in 5-7 days!

Perfect for all skill levels. Can be an individual or group activity. Children ages 10 + are welcome with and adult. All participants need a ticket.

All supplies and ingredients will be provided for the workshop.

Registration includes admission to the beautiful gardens before or after class.

Scott Thomas is a native of Orlando, Florida. His gardening experience started at an early age with family composting and flower planting.

"Gardening means different things to each of us. Efficiency in gardening is rarely mentioned. I want to deliver more impact and sprouting delivers high nutrients quickly and effectively with little effort and time…no chemicals, no fertilizers, no soil, no direct sunlight, no special tools needed and results in usually less than one week from start to harvest! Sprouting is the gateway vegetable to other, more in-depth forms of gardening. Sprouting gave me the confidence to pursue a wonderful gardening path. This class can open that door for you as well" - Scott Thomas

Participants must withdraw from classes at least 5 days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit.

Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided.
