Instructor: Scott Waisanen

You must bring your iPhone or smartphone that has a camera.

It has always been said the best camera to have for taking photos is the one have with you. We all carry our devices with us daily and many lack the confidence to know how to use the powerful features of the camera on the cell phone. This class is designed for the beginner to intermediate user to help give you the ability to understand your camera better and gain the confidence to take photos you will be proud to display.

The course is led by a professional photographer and veteran school teacher that will teach you how to access your phone settings, use them to improve your photos, and give you tips for composition of images on your phone.

Whether is it plants, animals, people, or landscapes or portraits this class will assist you in growing your skills to take a quality photo. The class will utilize the beautiful grounds of Leu Gardens for subject matter and will include individual instructions within the group as well as group discussion.

While this course is geared toward iPhone settings and features any smartphone that has a camera built in will work.

We will walk the gardens to take photos. Please wear comfortable clothes.

Course Content includes:

Introduction to your camera phone

Settings on your camera and what they mean

Basic and advanced camera settings

Use of light

Composition

Course requirements: You will need an Apple iPhone. You can participate with a Samsung or Google camera phone, but some of the technical controls mentioned will only be relevant for iPhones. You may also wish to bring a notebook and something to write with.
