Summer in the Garden Beginner Glass Mosaic Workshop

Create your own garden themed glass mosaic at our two hour hands on workshop. No experience required. You will take your completed design home the same day!
Have you ever wanted to try mosaic art? Join us for a fun, creative, introductory workshop where you will design and create your very own glass mosaic garden scene from start to finish. This "Make and Take" session is perfectly designed for beginners. You'll learn the fundamentals of mosaic art, including how to safely cut/nip glass, use a glass grinder, arrange a beautiful composition, and apply adhesive - all while inspired by the beautiful Harry P. Leu Gardens surroundings.
Choose from a selection of beautiful colored glass pieces and pre-fused embellishments (flowers, leaves, butterflies, etc) to begin your design.
Use the wheeled glass nipper, scorer, running pliers and wet grinder to cut and shape your glass pieces to fit your design. Assemble your artwork on the 5 x7 framed base with glass adhesive.
All supplies, materials and tools are provided.
Registration includes admission to the beautiful gardens before or after class.
Closed toe shoes recommended.
Janet LaFata, owner of Kiss My Glass studio, has been creating fused glass, stained glass and mosaic glass designs for over 20 years. She designs commissioned work, fundraising pieces, memorial pieces, and handmade items for sale at local Central Florida art shows. Janet serves on the board of the Art Glass Guild of Central Florida.
Janet's Kiss My Glass team consists of glass artists Cathy Mayer, a 15+ year veteran of the craft, and newest team member, Donna DeLucia. Together, they share a passion for glass and love teaching others through their workshops, introducing the glass arts to a new generation.
Participants must withdraw from classes at least 5 days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit.
Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided.
